Osun Governor, Adeleke Sacks 1,500 Teachers Employed By Ex-Governor Gboyega Oyetola

The battle for supremacy continues between the governor of Osun State and his immediate predecessor, Gboyega Oyetola.

The governor, Ademola Adeleke on Monday announced the disengagement of not less than 1,500 school teachers who were employed at the tail end of the immediate past administration saying their employment process was faulty.

It would be recalled that the immediate past Governor of the state-led administration had employed 1,500 teachers after the conduct of the Governorship Election in which he lost to Governor Ademola Adeleke.

Governor Adeleke had on his assumption of office issued an Executive Order nullifying the employment of 1,500 teachers that was hurriedly done by Oyetola.

Oyetola engaged them on July 17th 2022, a day after the declaration of the Osun governorship election results.

But in a passionate appeal by the affected teachers led by one Mr Owoyemi Abdulwasiu during a press conference held at Correspondent Chapel in Osogbo, the Governor was urged to exercise restrain in disengaging them on compassionate grounds.
