She Gave Birth To Triplet Without Complication But Died 5 Days Later- Man Recounts How Wife Dies After Childbirth

For Mr Tijani Kolawole, it has been a life of devastation since he lost his wife to the cold hand of death. A security guard who resides in Ilobu area of Osun state, the 32- year old widower is now left with no option but to rise up to the challenge of taking care of new born tripplet without their mother figure.

In a publication released on Saturday Punch, Mr Kolawole narrated how he lost his wife, Foluke three days after giving birth to a set of triplet.

According to him, his wife was successfully delivered of a set of triplet in the hospital without any complication. The medical personnel examined her and confirmed her fit and ready for discharge. That was on May 30.

On getting home, everything was fine. Three days after, she started bleeding. He called the attention of people to the situation and immediate remedy was provided to stop the bleeding.

She was then return to the hospital where she gave birth for proper medical attention. On getting there, the doctor confirmed she had a shortage of blood and there was a need for blood transfusion.

Since he shared the same blood group with her, he offered to donate his own and in the process, two pants of blood was taken from his body and given to her.

After she took it, her situation rather than getting better simply became deteriorated. Her tommy got swollen and became times two of the normal size.

They were later referred to the University of Osun Teaching Hospital. She was confirmed dead on arrival. She died exactly five days after giving birth to the triplet.

Mr Kolawole noted that since she died, he has become empty and completely devastated. Presently, her brother’s wife is the one helping him take care of the babies. 

Before the three babies, he claimed that they already had children. And until their birth, he never knew her late wife was actually carrying a three set of babies in her womb.
