Tinubu Has Reached A Point Where He Is Doubtful Of Support From His Ruling Party- Reuben Abati
Veteran journalist and former Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Reuben Abati has reacted to the latest statement made by the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on claims that fuel scarcity and Naira redesign are ploys to scuttle the forthcoming elections.
Abati who is a broadcaster with Arise Television made his reaction on the Friday edition of Morning Show.
According to him, Tinubu’s statement is an indication that he has lost confidence in the support given by his own party and its leaders.
“The first indication that comes across is that the candidate himself has doubts about the support of his own party. Because he was saying ‘fuel scarcity, if they like, let them not give you fuel, if they like, let them change Naira design’, policies of the Muhammadu Buhari administration.
“This was a case of the presidential candidate of the APC criticising the Chairman and leader of his own party.
“And he told his audience, ‘they want to scuttle this election, will you allow them?’
“It is the APC that is in possession, right at this moment, of all the cohesive instruments of states.
“We seemed to have reached a point where the ruling government is criticisng itself,” Abati said on ‘The Morning Show.
