Heavy Protest Rocks Benin City Over Fuel Scarcity

Nigerian youths have blocked the major highways in Benin City, over the lingering fuel scarcity that is having a debilitating effect on the economy.

The youths decided to stage a protest as a way of ventilating their grievances over the scarcity.

It was gathered that the protesters on Monday morning blocked the ever busy Sapele road and Ugbowo road, where the University of Benin is located.

Sources disclosed that the youths took to the streets to kick against the outrageous amount they have to part with to purchase fuel for their vehicles, generators and other appliances.

One of the Youths who spoke to reporters revealed that he bought fuel for as high as 600 per litre on Monday morning.
