How Tinubu Dropped Two Campaign Strategies Before Resorting To Abuses, Attacks- PDP Reveals
The presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been on the spotlight since the commencement of his race to Aso Rock ahead of February 25, 2023.
Each time the former governor of Lagos mounts the podium to speak to Nigerians on what to expect from his government if elected, it is either he commits a gaffe or attacks another presidential candidate.
Recently, Tinubu had been making the news headlines for attacking his party and the president at different campaign rallies.
However, the reason the APC presidential candidate has suddenly become combative and abusive in his campaign message was revealed by Kola Ologbondiyan, spokesperson of the presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar.
Ologbondiyan while speaking on the Wednesday edition of Arise News Morning Show revealed how Tinubu’s campaign strategies were dropped by his campaign team because they could not sail through with Nigerians.
The first campaign strategy claimed to have been dropped was his achievements in Lagos. Ologbondiyan stated that Tinubu who governed Lagos for just eight years is trying to arrogate the glory of the state to himself.
He said: “Before Tinubu, there were governors like Lateef Jakande and others who performed creditably well in the state. After him, there were governors Babatunde Raji Fashola, Akinwumi Ambode whose achievements are everywhere in the state for Nigerians to see. How can only him claim that he built Lagos to where it is today?
“And when they realized that Nigerians are asking a similar question, they dropped the campaign strategy.
The former PDP National Publicity Secretary also revealed that the second strategy jettisoned by Tinubu was that of Buhari’s legacies in the last eight years.
“Initially, they told Nigerians they would not speak about what Buhari has done during his government. But when they noticed the Lagos achievement story is defective, they return to Buhari’s legacies.
“However, Nigerians started asking them which of the legacies is Tinubu coming to build on. Is it the Legacy of hunger, anguish, killing and kidnapping that have become prevailent in the land or the exchange rate?
“When they also discovered that they have goofed with the strategy, they resorted to abuses and attacks.”
Ologbondiyan revealed that Tinubu has lost track of his campaign and got himself disconnected from the electorates because there is nothing to tell them again.
He noted that the only thing he remains for him is to attack and abuse other presidential candidates and his party.
