PDP Crisis: Governor Ortom Has Nowhere To Go, Ikpeazu Is On His Way Out Of Wike’s Camp- Ayu

The national chairman of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP, Iyorchia Ayu has expressed optimism on the possibility of aggrieved PDP governors coming back to work for the success of its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar in the forthcoming presidential election slated for 25th of this month.

The party has been heavily polarised since the conclusion of its presidential primary which produced Atiku Abubakar ahead of Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State.

Wike has led a group of five governors comprised of Seyi Makinde of Oyo, Ikezie Ikpeazu of Abia, Samuel Ortom of Benue, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu and himself who are codenamed as G-5.

They are campaigning for the resignation of the National Chairman in order for a Southern candidate to emerge as party chairman. The condition on which they can only support the presidential candidate of the party ahead of the election.

Few days to the election, the aggrieved governors have refused to back down from their demand. Despite that, the National Chairman still believes that they will return to the party and work with their presidential candidate.

Iyorchia Ayu expressed this confidence on Monday while speaking at an event.

According to him, “Governor Ortom has nowhere to go, Ikpeazu is on his way out of Wike’s camp.”

He also revealed how Ikpeazu came to his house because of his preferred Governorship candidate that lost the rerun primary election in Abia state.

For him, it is a sign that Ikpeazu is already on his way back to the party to work for Atiku’s emergence as president.
