That PDP Is Able To Constitute Campaign Council Shows The Party Is Doing Well- Diran Odeyemi

A former Deputy National Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, Diran Odeyemi, has told Nigerians that the main opposition party is doing well irrespective of the controversy trailing the utterances of Governor Nyesom Wike against the Party and its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar.

Atiku Abubakar had on Thursday released a list comprising 350 names as members of his Presidential Campaign Council. The Rivers State governor, Nyesom Wike is said to be number 13 on the list as member of the council.

Many Nigerians have questioned the rationale behind the inclusion of the governor as a mere member of the council rather than being one of the directors of the Campaign sections.

Reacting to the development while featuring on the Friday edition of Channels TV Politics Today, Diran Odeyemi who spoke from his country home in Osun State disclosed that the internal wrangling within the party does not stop it from strategizing on winning the elections in 2023.

According to him, PDP is the only party that has been able to manage its internal affairs effectively among all the leading political parties in Nigeria.

The party Chieftain admitted that the party is enmeshed in internal crisis after the conclusion of the presidential primary election but it has been able to develop a proper mechanism to resolve it.

He revealed that, for the fact that PDP is able to come up with a list of members who make up the campaign council shows that the party is doing well and able to manage its affairs very well.

Odeyemi is of the opinion that it is normal for every big party like PDP to have issues but how they manage their crisis is what really matter. And as far as PDP is concerned, they have been able to manage their affairs very well.
