Fani-Kayode Reacts To London Times Article Saying Tinubu Has A Reputation For Lavish Spending & Corruption
An article published on The Times, a London based publication has caught the attention of the Media Team of the Bola Tinubu’s Presidential Campaign Council, drawing a caustic reaction from them.
The publication, which was released on Saturday, dealt extensively on the emergence of the presidential candidate of the All Progressive Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as winner of the keenly contested presidential election held on Saturday February 25.
According to the publication, Tinubu was described as winner of a disputed Nigerian presidential election. It says Tinubu campaigned on the slogan of “It’s my turn to rule”.
The article also described Tinubu as Muslim from the Southwest with a reputation for lavish spending and corruption.
The content of the article however did not go down well with the Media Team which describes the magazine as a publication that has lost its relevance and glory years ago.
The reaction was made by a former minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode who is also a media director of the campaign council.
Responding to the article on his verified twitter page, Fani Kayode wrote: “Assuming this is real and not another fake opposition story and ploy, I was initially worried and angry when I first saw this drivel.
“However after a while the following occurred to me: so what if this was written in the Times? Of what relevance is it to us or our people?.
“Some ignorant, barely educated and misguided little white boy writes rubbish in the Times and we are supposed to loose sleep over it? We have far bigger and better things to think of, worry about and to do than that. In any case the Times of London lost its relevance and glory years ago. Lost its numbers in terms of circulation and readership too.
“Today it is little better than a dwindling, fading and inconsequential toe rag: it is only fit for the dustbin.”
