Over One Thousand PVCs, Ballot Papers Recovered In Lagos Apartment

The move to secure a victory at all costs by some unscrupulous politicians in Lagos in the forthcoming governorship and House of Assembly election has been bursted through the discovery of Ballot papers and Permanent Voters Cards in a Lagos apartment.

The discovery was made by personnel from the Nigerian Army’s 9 Brigade on Wednesday. According to the report on Punch Newspaper, it was gathered that about 1,671 Permanent Voter Cards were recovered from an apartment located in the Olodi-Apapa area of Lagos State.

Three people were arrested in the apartment, while the main suspect is on the run.

The troops also recovered ballot papers, cutlasses, and Indian hemp from the apartment.

Background information revealed that the materials were kept in the house in order to be used for the Saturday governorship and House of Assembly elections which had already been postponed by the Independent National Electoral Commission.

INEC postponed the election in order to enable it configure the Bimodal Electronic Voters Accreditation machine for the exercise.
