I Have No Issue With Tinubu, I Only Have Problem With The Process That Gave Him Victory- Peter Obi

The presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi has disclosed he has no problem with Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu who was declared the winner of the just concluded presidential election.

Tinubu was declared president-elect after polling over 8 million votes to defeat his closest rivals, Atiku Abubakar of the People’s Democratic Party and Peter Obi of the Labour Party.

Appearing on Monday edition of Arise TV Morning Show, Peter Obi revealed he has no problem with the former governor of Lagos for winning the election.

He said: “I have no issue with Tinubu, I only have problem with process that gave him victory.”

According to the former Anambra governor, you don’t win an election when you failed to win the people because that is the basis of democracy.

His word: “I have no issues with Tinubu. He is somebody I have so much respect for as a brother and regard as a father.

“I am only challenging the process through which INEC declared him as the President-elect. I have no issues with his declaration as the President-elect.”

He however appealed to the electoral body to rise up to the responsibility of helping Nigeria build a viable global image.

“We are committed to a new Nigeria. We must do everything that is right.

“We need to build strong democratic institutions that will teach people what their job requires and what government is all about,” he said.
