Gov. Sanwo-Olu Officially Presents 10Million Naira Cheque To LASU’s Best Graduating Student
In fulfilment of the pledge he made, the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu has presented a 10 million naira cash prize to a law graduate, Miss Aminat Yusuf, who finished with a 5.0 Cumulative Grade Point Average,CGPA, at the Lagos State University, LASU in the 2021/2022 academic year.
Miss Yusuf emerged the institution’s best student of all time and was honoured two weeks ago at LASU’s 26th convocation and 40th anniversary during which the Governor promised her a ten million naira cash reward in addition to the two million naira from the institution.
Playing host to Aminat and her parents, Mr. Ibrahim Yusuf and Hajia Halimah, at the State House, Marina, Governor Sanwo-Olu who sought to know how she achieved the academic feat reminded Aminat that she has become a role model and charged her to use her voice and fame to promote scholarship among young people in vulnerable communities,
The Governor who said Aminat’s academic achievement had further validated Lagos’ profile as the Centre of Excellence, stressed that his administration would continue to do its best in preserving quality education in the State-owned universities and urged her to sustain her brilliance and aim for excellence in her future endeavours.
