Two Years Ago, I Would ‘ve Said No To This Kind Of Dress But It Is My First Oscar, I Have To Go All Out- Singer Tem

International singer, Temilade Openiyi popularly known as Tem has taken her time to speak on the controversy that greeted her choice of outfit to the recently held Oscar awards.

The sensational hip-hop star sparked the fire of public debate following her sultry wear to one of the biggest international music awards night.

In January, she became a major topic on social media after she was nominated for the Oscar award. She was described as a pride of the nation who has brought so much honour and recognition to Nigeria by virtue of her nomination.

However, the story changed a few days ago when she appeared at the event with one of the attention-grabbing outfits at the occasion.

Dressed in her shining white flowing gown designed in a sexually provocative style, the Nigerian born female artist stole the show and made herself a subject of controversy through the dress.

Back at home, Nigerians, most of whom are her fans, hit the social media to lampoon her for daring to show up at such a big event in her outfit. She was heavily criticized without anyone giving her the privilege to explain the rationale behind her choice of outfit.

Recently, Tem had the opportunity to respond to the criticisms. In her reaction which was published on Punch online, she gave a copious reason for choosing the dress.

According to her, some years ago, she would have said no to that kind of dress. But it was her first Oscar and she had to go all out.

She wrote: “I would have said no to this kind of dress but it is my first Oscar, I have to go all out.”

Below is the screenshot of her full statement.
