Reactions As DSS Confirms Plot To Install Interim Government On May 29

The Department of State Security Services claimed that it has confirmed a plot by politicians to install an Interim government if the federation to succeed president Muhammadu Buhari in May 29.

The move is an attempt to stop the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu from being sworn-in as president.

The information was revealed by DSS spokesman, Peter Afunanya in a statement on Wednesday. Afunanya vowed that the secret police will use all arsenals at its disposal to frustrate such plot.

According to the agency, some politicians who are involved in the plot to engender an interim government in Nigeria are already identified.

On Saturday, the DSS had warned politicians to desist from peddling “hate speech” and all forms of “false narratives” to ignite violence or pit citizens against the current government of President Muhammadu Buhari and the incoming administration of the President-Elect, Bola Tinubu.

The secret police warning followed a petition by the Minister of State for Labour and Productivity, Festus Keyamo that the DSS should invite the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Peter Obi; and his running mate, Datti Baba-Ahmed, over their rejection of Tinubu as the President-Elect.

The latest development has been eliciting reactions on social media.
