Pastor Adeboye Recounts What Happened After Eating Pounded Yam After God Warned Him Not To Eat It

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has shared the experience he had the day he refused to heed to the voice of God.

Daddy G.O as fondly regarded by his members made this revelation while ministering at the Church headquarters in Ebute Metta during the special monthly thanksgiving service on Sunday.

While speaking on a topic titled: Vessel Unto Honour, Adeboye charged the congregation that, if they want to be vessels unto honour, they must be completely obidient to God.

Sharing the experience he had after disobeying God, the man of God narrated how he travelled to his home state in Ife-wara, Osun state.

On getting there, he was served pounded yam and Okro soup with bush meat. Luckily for him, he was not fasting that day and it was a great opportunity for him to eat such a local food that he cherishes so much.

While praying on the food, he heard God speaking to him not to eat the food. But he told God he was not fasting and went ahead to eat it.

After he finished eating, he got a call that his sister was seriously sick and already dieing. So he had to go there and pray for him.

On getting there, he saw his sister ravaged with chickenpox. According to him, someone who has just eaten pounded yam and Okro soup cannot stand the sight of chickenpox let alone pray for the person.

So he had to go to the backyard, dipped his hand in his throat and threw up all the pounded yam he had eaten before he could go back and pray for his sister.

During the prayer, God told him again that it was this reason he instructed him not to eat the pounded yam earlier.

He however asked God for mercy and promised never to disobey Him again.
