I Never Heard Anyone Threaten Judiciary The Way I Heard Datti Baba-Ahmed Speaking- Wole Soyinka 

Nobel Laureate, professor Wole Soyinka has condemned the statement credited to the vice presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Datti Baba-Ahmed over the last presidential election.

Baba-Ahmed while featuring on Channels TV Politics Today about a week ago disclosed that swearing-in the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu on May 29 is like swearing-in a military government.

He noted that Tinubu does not meet the constitutional requirements to be president and seriously warned president Muhammadu Buhari and the Chief Justice of if Nigeria, Olukayode Ariwoola not to be part of an illegal and unconstitutional inauguration of the president-elect on May 29.

Datti’s statement has been eliciting reactions across the country.

Speaking on the subject while featuring on Wednesday edition of Arise TV Morning Show, Professor Wole Soyinka stated that the statement is too heavy and should be outrightly condemned.

He said: “I have never heard anyone threaten the judiciary the way Datti Baba-Ahmed spoke on Live TV.

He described the utterance as fascistic, menacing and unacceptable.

His word: “I never heard anyone threaten the judiciary the way I heard Dattti speaking. Blackmailing attitude. Do or die provocation is not what we are struggling for.”
