I Will Retire To My Home Town In Daura & Stay As Far As Possible From Abuja After May 29- President Buhari

If there is one president who can’t wait to complete his tenure and move out of presidential Villa as soon as possible, it is President Muhammadu Buhari.

Barely two months to the end of his administration, the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces is seriously looking forward to the opportunity of dropping the mantle of leadership and completely free himself from the national burden.

The president expressed this view at the state house on Wednesday when he received in audience the British High Commissioner to Nigeria, Her Excellency, Catriona Wendy Laing.

While speaking with the outgoing British Commissioner, Buhari noted that he could not wait to return to his country home in Daura after his handing over in May 29.

He said: “I will retire to my country home in Daura and stay away from Abuja after May 29.”

He lauded UK for cooperation on many fronts, particularly in the rebuilding of the North East, hitherto ravaged by insurgency.

President Buhari said the United Kingdom was second home for many Nigerians, and relations between the two countries will continue to wax strong.

“In fact, some wealthy Nigerians don’t feel complete till they’ve had a home in the UK,” he added.

The British High Commissioner Laing in her response congratulated President Buhari for very successful eight years in office, saying he had done very well to hold the country together.
