Kogi Election: Dino Melaye Throws In The Towel, Says “I will not Contest Election Outcome”

The Kogi State governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dino Melaye, has said that he will not contest the electoral victory of the All Progressives Congress at the Nov 11 polls, saying he has lost confidence in the judiciary.

The PDP governorship candidate, who came a distant third in the election, made accusations on Wednesday, November 29, alleging that the court is now an APC department rather than an autonomous institution.

The Nation reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced APC candidate, Usman Ododo, as the winner of the November 11 governorship election in the state.

Dino said: “Judiciary is no longer the last hope of the ordinary people, it is now a department under the All Progressives Congress. Why should any responsible person go to the tribunal when the APC has captured the judiciary? I have lost complete confidence in the judiciary.”
