His Opinions Have Been Coloured By Politics- Femi Adesina Reacts To Bishop Kukah’s Message To Buhari

The Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Sokoto State, Bishop Mathew Hassan Kukah has come under fire from the presidency over his assessment of President Muhammadu Buhari’s administration.

During his sermon on Easter Sunday, the man of God carried out a comprehensive assessment of Buhari’s government in the last eight years and asked some critical questions on the present situation of the country.

Part of what he said in his statement was that, as president Buhari prepares to return to Daura or Kaduna after eight years in government, does he feel fulfilled that he has achieved his dream or the goals he set while coming to office in 2015?

The question and some other things he said have triggered reactions from Nigerians.

Responding to Mathew Kukah’s statement while featuring on Monday edition of Channels TV Politics Today programme, the Special Assistant to the president on Media, Femi Adesina disclosed that the Bishop is mainly known for his criticism of President Buhari’s administration.

Adesina said: “Bishop Kukah’s opinions have been coloured by politics.”

According to him, the man of God has never seen anything good in this government since Its inception in 2015 and whatever it does, he will still criticize.

He revealed that his criticisms of Buhari’s government are not constructive but rather, it is coloured by politics.

He advised the Bishop to concentrate more on his pastoral calling and leave politics for politicians.
