Mrs Mojisola Olorunfemi, mother of Temitope Olorunfemi who was lynched to death on Monday by an angry mob at Ijoka Area of Akure, Ondo state capital has described the killing of her son as unjust.
She said her son was not a yahoo boy as claimed by his killers.
According to her, her son was a “bolt driver” who traveled down to Akure from Lagos, and not a “Yahoo boy” as alleged.
She said the car that was set ablaze was bought for him by his father.
She added, “My son was a “bolt driver” who traveled down to Akure from Lagos, and not a “Yahoo boy” as alleged.
“His father bought him the Toyota vehicle that was set ablaze by the mob.
“The clothes and other personal effects seen inside the vehicle belonged to Tope’s wife (Bose) and his kid who are planning to return to Lagos after spending the Easter celebration in Akure.
“The claims that they found fetish items inside my son’s vehicle are tissues of lies.
“The piggy bank that was found inside his car belongs to his wife. It is not a casket as alleged.
“The clothes found inside his car were the ones belonging to his wife and child.
“My son has been a hustler since his childhood age. He had engaged in many menial jobs like bricklaying before he started the driving job.”
While seeking justice on the matter, the deceased’s mother, called on government to fight for her “by ensuring that those who killed her son are brought to book.
“I don’t have anyone but I know I have God and the government will fight for me.”
Tope, whose vehicle reportedly crushed two people to death and injured others in the Ijoka Area of Akure, was lynched while his vehicle was set ablaze by some irate mob in the area.
They were said to have allegedly found some fetish items in his car, raising suspicion that he was an internet fraudster, popularly referred to as ‘Yahoo boy.
