He Is Resting In Europe Ahead Of May  29 – APC Reacts To Concerns About Tinubu’s Absence In Public

The speculations about the worsening health of president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu by members of the public has forced the ruling All Progressive Congress to come out and set the record straight and allay the fear of many Nigerians.

Tinubu has left the country for about three weeks for what his camp described as a brief rest in London. His continuous absence has however become a subject of discussion as some highly placed Nigerians who are close to the corridors of power are insinuating that the incoming president is battling with his worsening health condition.

The ruling party has however debunked the rumour saying the former Lagos Governor is relaxing ahead of his inauguration in May 29.

The National Publicity Secretary of the Party, Felix Morka stated this while featuring on a channels TV programme.

According to Morka, Tinubu is doing well and will swing into action immediately he returns from Europe.

Morka stated, “He is probably in Europe. He’s fine. After the elections and all of the energy expended, he just decided to take a moment of rest.

“Once he returns and is inaugurated on May 29, there will be no dulling. He’ll be saddled with the responsibility of running a country as massive and as complex as Nigeria. I know he’ll be back in the country very shortly.”

Morka added, “So, he’s not sleeping in his bed; he’s also in meetings regularly with all kinds of people who are travelling from other countries to see him preparatory to his inauguration. So, it’s a working visit.”

However, some Nigerians who interacted with RovingNaija on the subject, expressed apprehension that Nigerians may be set for another round of a “visitor presidency”. They insist that the experience from the administration of late president Umaru Musa Y’ardua is still fresh in their memories.

They also summise that the incoming president, Bola Tinubu may not have the rigour to confront headlong the many challenges bedeviling the country and he may end up touring Europe and other advanced nations for medical attention under the guise of state visits instead of attending to pressing national issues.
