Few Weeks To 50th Birthday, Pregnant Nigerian Blogger Dies Suddenly

Adenike Adewunmi-Adebisi, a well known Nigerian blogger has been announced dead.

Adenike, the founder of Nikkisworldblog, was hoping to celebrate her 50th birthday in a few months alongside the birth of her first child when she struck a date with death.

Joke Adewunmi-Toba, Adenike’s younger sister, shared the heartbreaking news on Instagram, revealing that the blogger complained of shortness of breath [difficulty in breathing when you are not getting enough oxygen] on Thursday and died before reaching the hospital.

In her post, Joke wrote, “Romans 14:8 – For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord’s. For more than 20 years, my sister Adenike Adewunmi Adebisi waited on the Lord for a baby. The Lord did it but unfortunately took them both this morning(13/04/2023).

“She complained of Shortness of breath, and she died before she was rushed to the hospital. She was planning of having her 50th Birthday with the naming later this year. ???????? Please pray for us because this pain is unbearable. Good Night to my wonderful and Amazing sister.”

Adewunmi-Toba’s husband, Dre Toba, also expressed his sadness on Facebook, saying he was “heartbroken at the passing of my sister-in-law.” He added, “RIP Adenike Adebisi-Adewunmi #Nikkysworld01.. still in shock.”

The family is understandably devastated by the sudden loss, and they have asked for prayers during this difficult time.
