Kingsley Moghalu Reacts To The Removal Of Verified Badges On His Twitter Account
Telecom Giant, Twitter has clamped down heavily on verified accounts that refused to meet their financial obligation for having the blue tick.
Several users of the platform were shocked on Thursday evening to discover that the blue tick has been removed from their accounts.
The badges enables any account that has it to be recognized as a verified account.
The blue tick however does not come on a platter of gold. Certain amount of money is expected to be paid periodically to retain it and also help contents on such account to have a better push and exposure to more users through the help of Artificial Intelligence.
Once the blue tick disappears from an account, it automatically becomes ordinary.
Former Deputy governor of Central Bank, Kingsley Moghalu is one of the several users whose accounts were initially verified but have now become ordinary as a result of the removal of the blue tick.
Commenting on the development after noticing his account has become ordinary, the former presidential candidate of the Young People’s Party decided to say goodbye to his Twitter blue tick.
He wrote on twitter: “Goodbye to my Twitter blue tick. Life goes on. No, I won’t be paying $8 a month. It’s not the same thing as getting it as recognition.”
