PHOTOS: I Love These Irrepressible Younger Women- Ezekwesili Reacts As Aisha Yesufu, Rinu Oduala Visit Her In US
Former Nigerian Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili has reacted to the visit of right activists, Aisha Yesufu and Rinu Oduala to her in Washington DC, United States of America.
Ezekwesili, who expressed her excitement through her verified twitter handle on Wednesday was full of appreciation to the young advocates of a better society.
Aisha Yesufu who was the spokesperson of Peter Obi’s presidential campaign council, was a co-convener of Bring Back Our Girls movement, the pressure group that was renowned for the campaign against the Goodluck Jonathan-government’s laxity in rescuing the kidnapped Chibok girls in 2014.
The group, which was led by Oby Ezekwesili and Yesufu was constantly occupying the Freedom Park in the Federal Capital Territory to mount pressure on the government with a view to recovering the 285 girls abducted by Boko Haram from the secondary school in Chibok, Borno State.
Rinu Oduala on her part was one of the leaders of the EndSars campaign that rocked the entire country to its foundation in 2020.
The protest was aimed at ending police brutality and bad governance in Nigeria. Aisha Yesufu and Rinu Oduala made their marks through the campaign and today, became household names in Nigeria.
The two women later deployed the raw energy to the presidential campaign of Peter Obi and galvanized Nigerian youths for the success of the Labour Party candidate in the last presidential election.
Visiting Ezekwesili in the US, the former minister described Yesufu and Oduala as irrepressible younger women.
She said: “I love these irrepressible younger women.”
Posting the pictures of her visitors on twitter, she wrote:”It was delightsome for me in Washington DC on Tuesday, to meet up with two relentless, inspiring and awesome #OccupiersOfOfficeOfTheCitizen????????????????@AishaYesufu and @SavvyRinu ! I love both of these irrepressible younger women with all my heart!!”
