Institute of Directors Appoints Alabi As Head, Corporate Affairs

The Institute of Directors Nigeria (IoD), Nigeria’s foremost corporate governance institute, has announced the appointment of Dr Segun Alabi as its new head of corporate affairs and programmes.

Mr Dele Alimi, Director General, IoD, made this known in a statement to newsmen in Lagos.

Alabi, a talented corporate affairs personnel, was the head of corporate communications at the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).

According to Alimi, Alabi’s wealth of knowledge and experience most recently as corporate affairs manager at AB-INBEV (International Breweries Plc) would be valuable to the institute.

He added that the IoD’s new appointee had rich experience in reputation management, government relations, stakeholder management, public policy advocacy and social media management at various levels.

“Segun Alabi is a talented Corporate Affairs professional, who has gained diverse experience in the broadcasting, financial, real estate and manufacturing sectors.

“His most recent position at international breweries had him overseeing all regulatory affairs and sustainability functions of the organisation.

“He is also a consummate corporate communications professional, who possesses the qualities of a communication connoisseur, with a canny ability to manage and disseminate information to a competitive advantage.

“He will be an added value and a real asset to the institute, as we continue to support, promote and provide best practice guidelines to company directors, as well as contributing to the growth of the economy,” he said.

The statement also quoted Alabi expressing his excitement about joining the institute which he described as a dream come true.

He pledged his commitment to achieving the institute’s missions, goals and objectives as it continues to advocate good corporate governance practices across board in the country.
