Reactions As Mob Allegedly Prevents Fire Fighters From Putting Out Fire At Alaba Int’l Market
The action of an angry mob who allegedly prevented the fire fighters from putting out the fire at Alaba International market on Friday has elicited reactions from Nigerians especially the people of Lagos.
It was reported early on Friday that the popular market caught fire leading to destruction of goods worth several millions of naira.
Shop owners and residents of the area reportedly put a call through to the Lagos state fire service but they were said not to have shown up early enough.
By the time they arrived the scene, the damage had gone beyond redemption. The delay in their arrival was said to have triggered outrage from an angry mob at the scene who prevented them from doing their job.
However, the director of Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service, Adeseye Margaret, made it known that men of the agency have put out the inferno.
The statement did not stop Nigerians from expressing their opinions over the incident.
