Nigerians Blast Gov. Wike For Naming Public Courthouse After His Wife
The court house commissioned by the President-elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Rivers State on Thursday has been a subject of debate on social media.
The facility is one of the projects built by the governor and inaugurated by Tinubu during the week. Tinubu landed in Port Harcourt on Wednesday and embarked on a projects’ inauguration spree which was widely reported in the press.
However, one of the projects caught the public attention and it’s currently being questioned on the ground of morality.
It is the court house that was named after the wife of the state governor, Nyesom Wike.
The two story beautiful edifice is named: Suzzette Eberechi Nyesom Wike. Eberechi Nyesom Wike is one of the chief judges in Rivers State.
Many Nigerians however disagreed with the decision of Wike to name a courthouse after his wife who is still serving in the state ministry of Justice.
They were also more disappointed in the president-elect who promised to fight corruption when he assumes office but choose to promote corruption few days to his assumption of office by commissioning a Courthouse named after the wife of an incumbent governor while the beneficiary is also a serving judge in the state.
