EXCLUSIVE: How A Mother Of Two Scheduled To Relocate By Month End Was Electrocuted To Death
The tragic death of a middle aged woman simply identified as Mummy Princess has sparked an outrage and major controversy in the Akute area of Ogun State.
Mummy Princess was electrocuted to death a few days ago after she mistakenly grabbed an iron fence connected to a live cable that had been lying on the ground for several days.
The 35-year old woman according to eyewitness accounts, had gone to a Shopping Complex located beside a branch of Zenith Bank in Akute to collect her cloth from her Tailor.
In her attempt to leave the premises after collecting the said cloth from her customer, she grabbed the iron fence that had already touched the live wire. Instantly, she was electrocuted to death.
The development led to angry reactions from residents of the area who accused the owner of the complex of being negligent with the fallen wire.
One of the residents who spoke to RovingNaija correspondent revealed that the wire has been on ground for many weeks and they have been telling the man to find solution to it to avoid an occurrence of this nature.
“This wire has been on ground for many days and people have told the landlord of the complex to call Electricity officials so they can hang it back on the pole but he refused to heed to warnings.
“If he had done that, this woman would not have lost her life.”
Immediately after the incident, some landlords in the area reported the matter to the Ajuwon Police Division. The Station dispatched its men to the area and consequently arrested and detained the complex owner.
One of the deceased neighbors who preferred to be anonymous told RovingNaija correspondent that the late woman was expected to travel to the United Kingdom and reunite with her husband by end of this month.
“Her husband travelled last year November but because of the delay in her Visa and that of their children, they could not go together. Their Visa just came out two weeks ago and they were already planning to travel by end of May.
“Her death is quite unfortunate” She said.
