25-Year Old Kano Man Who Got Married To A 46-Year Old American Woman Joins US Army 

Suleiman Isah, the man from Kano who married a 46-year-old American citizen, Janine Sanchez, has made the news headline again following his recent exploit in America.

The young man has joined the California Army National Guard, a reserve of the United States Army.

The Kano born American officer posted a photo of himself wearing the US Army uniform on Friday and captioned the picture with: “Alhamdullillah- forever grateful”.

Isah and Janine met through the internet in 2020 and less than a year later, they got married.

The bride, who is a California-based Chef, had to fly to Nigeria to seal the union with Isah in Kano.

The groom’s uncle and a former Senator who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the 8th National Assembly, Shehu Sani stood in for the bride’s family.

The wedding was held at MOPOL 52 Barracks Juma’at Mosque in Panshekara, Kumbotso Local Government area of Kano State.

It was attended by thousands of well-wishers from within and outside the state.

Barely a year after the much talked about wedding, the groom, Isah has now been enlisted into the US Army courtesy of his decision to marry Janine which was widely criticized by many Nigerian youths.

Commenting on the latest development on his Facebook page, Shehu Sani congratulated the officer and taunted those who criticized him when he supported the union.

“They criticised me for this inter racial marriage and now Suleiman Isah is happily married and got enlisted into the California Army National Guard. Congratulations,” he said.

The post has however generated reactions from Nigerians on social media.
