PHOTOS: Ripples Of Death Rock Nollywood Industry As Three Popular Actors Die In 24 Hours
Triple tragedies have rippled the Nigerian entertainment industry as three veteran actors are reported dead.
Murphy Afolabi, a popular Yoruba actor and director, died in the early hours of Sunday.
The news of his death was contained in a post by his colleague, Tunde Ola Yusuf.
Although, the cause of the Osogbo born actor’s death is still unknown, many of his colleagues have taken to their social media handles to mourn the loss of the talented thespian.
Murphy recently celebrated his 49th birthday on May 4.
His death came few hours after the death of another veteran actor, Obinna Nwafor fondly known as Saint Obi was announced.
According to reports, Saint Obi died at the age of 57 in the home of one of his siblings in Jos, Plateau State.
It was gathered that the actor had been sick for a while and had to relocate to his sister’s home in Jos for a better care, but unfortunately passed on there.
While the news of Saint Obi’s demise is yet to sink down within the creative space, another veteran Yoruba Nollywood actor, Mukaila Adedigba popularly known as Alafin Oro passed on.
Oro’s passing, which occurred in the early hours of yesterday was announced on Instagram page of one of his colleagues, Kunle Afod.
According to Afod, Adedigba died in the early hours of yesterday and will surely be missed by his fans and in the industry.
Sharing the deceased pictures, Afod wrote: “Another library is burnt down today. A great philosopher. An icon with so much Yoruba knowledge. A lover of God @alafinoro1. You departed this sinful world early today. May your gentle soul rest in peace.
“R.I.P Adedigba. We will surely miss you. We drank from your River of knowledge, we know how important you are, the sad news this morning really broke my heart @alafinoro1 sun re ooo.”
