It Is Illegal To Beat An Officer In Uniform Even If He Misbehaves- Police Tell Nigerians

Force Public Relations Officer, Prince Olumuyiwa Adejobi has sparked reactions on social media over his statement that it is illegal to beat police officers while in uniform even if they misbehaved.

The Police image maker made the statement in reaction to the controversies trailing the assault on a police officer in Lagos by the Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti.

RovingNaija recalls that the son of Legendary Musician went viral over the weekend after slapping an officer on Third Mainland Bridge. Seun claimed that he was provoked by the action of the officer who attempted to kill him and his family on the spot.

The incident, which has led to a legal battle between the Lagos Police Command and Seun Kuti, has been generating mixed feelings from Nigerians.

However, the reaction from Prince Olumuyiwa made the matter more controversial for people to understand.

Olumuyiwa, in a report published on online news, claimed it is illegal to beat an officer while in uniform even if he misbehaved.
