What Keyamo Said After Bode George Offers To Work With Tinubu If Invited

Former Minister of Labour and Employment, Festus Keyamo has reacted to the statement made by the former military administrator of old Ondo State, Chief Olabode George over the possibility of working with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

The chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party has agreed to work with Tinubu if he is given the privilege by the president.

Bode George made the statement while responding to questions from joutnalists at his office in the Ikoyi area of the state.

RovingNaija had earlier reported that the retired Naval chief has maintained a long standing feud with the former governor of Lagos. On several occasions, he has threatened to tear his Nigerian Passport and go on self exile to Ghana if Tinubu wins the Election and becomes president of Nigeria.

While many Nigerians have expected him to do according to his threat following the inauguration of the president earlier this week, however, Bode George appears to have taken a U-turn over the statement.

Asked if he would agree to take an appointment from Tinubu if the opportunity beckons, Bode George said:

“My reaction, like I have said, there is nothing personal. Look, I trained in the military. You know in the military whoever is in the trench next to you is your brother. When you go out to say what is our mission in the military? It is to defend our country. If he comes and says look, what do you feel about this, what do you feel about that, let’s work together in the interest of this country, why would I refuse? This nation also trained me.

‘’The military trained me. There is no part of the world that I have not been, training and doing exercises. This country trained us. So, we must be able to put something back to the system that would also positively impact on the younger ones, to put a smile on their faces.’’

Reacting to the his response, Festus Keyamo who was the chief spokesman of Tinubu’s Presidential Campaign Council said: “Pick your pen and start writing. Bode George said he would work for Tinubu if he invited him.”

Keyamo said this on his tweeter handle on Friday.
