Former governor of Akwa Ibom State, Godswill Akpabio has been elected Senate president of the 10th Assembly.
Akpabio defeated his closest rival, Abdulazeez Yari to clinch the victory as senate president.
The former minister of State for Niger Delta Affairs is the preferred choice of the president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu who rallied the APC senators to vote him as senate president.
He has been sworn-in to lead the 10th Assembly for the next four years.
