A Police Friend Is More Poisonous Than A Rattle Snake – Woman Narrates Ordeal With Family Friend Who Is An Officer

If you have a police officer as friend, you may not likely need an enemy to battle with in life. This appears to be the story of a pathetic woman who narrowly escaped from being heavily extorted by a close family friend who is an officer in the Nigeria Police Force.

Simply identified as Mummy Precious, the woman who worships in same church with the officer at one of the Parishes of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Ajuwon Area of Lagos recounted the experience she had in the hand of the officer when her husband was locked up in cell.

RovingNaija News had earlier reported that some house agents were locked up in Ajuwon Police Division for allegedly assisting a tenant to secure one bedroom apartment only to later realize that the client who claimed to be a teacher in Private a School, is an alleged kidnapper and baby factory operator within the environment.

Following the arrest of the suspect, his landlady and all the four house agents who linked him up to secure the apartment, everyone aside the suspect was asked to pay a certain amount as bail for their realese.

Realizing she could not raise the money and secure the release of her husband, Mummy Precious decided to meet with their family friend who is a police officer at the station to seek his help in influencing the release of her husband.

Exclusively sharing her encounter with the RovingNaija correspondent on Thursday, she revealed that going to meet him simply worsen her situation.

She said: “After realizing I cannot raise the money, I went to meet the officer whom I believe would be of help. He actually felt my pains and worries and promised to intervene. He asked me to give him some minutes to see the officer in charge of the case.

“I waited in his office and after about 30 minutes, he returned and told me that I should just give them forty thousand naira and my husband would be released. He said it, as if he had just done me a favour anyone cannot do.

“I asked where do I get forty thousand naira from? My husband was only implicated in the matter and the suspect has been arrested already. What if the person had run away, how much would they have asked me to pay? He told me it was because of him that the money is not more than that amount. He said I’m lucky that I have someone like him in the station unlike other agents who do not have any officer to plead their case.

“I left his office and began to walk around helplessly within the premises. Later, the officer in charge sent for me and asked me what exactly is the problem. I told him I had no money to secure his bail and I had called friends and family members that could help. They were able to raise 10,000 naira for me.

“To my surprise, the officer asked me why didn’t I bring the money, I told him I don’t know how I could negotiate the bail to that amount. He asked me to bring it. I collected the money through POS right there and my husband was released.”

The woman who was extremely disappointed in their police friend warned anyone not to trust policemen who are friends. She noted that they are more poisonous and deadly than a rattle snake and enemy.
