Breaking News: Obidients Jittery As Tribunal Strikes Out Petition Against VP Kashim Shettima
In a ruling that may send shock waves down the spines of supporters of the Labour Party, the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT) sitting in Abuja has struck out the petition of the Allied Peoples Movement, APM, challenging the double nomination of vice-President, Kashim Shettima.
In its ruling, the chairman, Justice Haruna Tsammani held that the issue of double nomination of any candidate was a pre-election matter.
According to Tsammani, the APM lacks the locus standi to challenge the nomination of the candidates of another political party.
RovingNaija reports that Peter Obi and the Labour Party had also challenged the same double nomination of Alhaji Kashim Shettima.
