The government of ebonyi state through the Special Assistant to the Ebonyi State Governor on Internal Security, Tobias Ogbonna Ogeh has condemned in its totality the barbaric attack that occurred at Ezzangbo Junction/Nkwo Market Park, in Ohaukwu Local by unknown gunmen in the early hours of October 2nd, 2023.
According to him, ‘’the senseless act of violence against our community is both tragic and unacceptable. I sincerely sympathize with those whose means of earning a living were destroyed and set ablaze. My thoughts and prayers are with the victims and their families during this difficult time.
“Security measures have been beefed up to bring the perpetrators to book and forestall the recurrence of such ugly incidents.
“In synergy with stakeholders and different security agencies through our continued efforts to maintain a peaceful environment, we will continue to ensure the safety and security of our people, and we will work tirelessly to bring the perpetrators of this heinous act to justice.
“Such acts of violence must be exterminated, and we will do everything to maintain peace and stability in our beloved Local government and Ebonyi State.
I urge the residents of Ohaukwu LG and the neighboring communities to remain vigilant, cooperate with security agencies, and provide any information that may assist in the apprehension of those responsible for this reprehensible act,’’ he said.
