Falconets Fought Gallantly Until They Were Knocked Out In Semi-final- Peter Obi Goofed On Tweeter

Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Dr Peter Obi has slightly committed a factual somersault on social media with his recent post.

Obi who is one of the leading presidential candidates for the 2023 general election has been consistently using the social media especially tweeter to preach the gospel of his candidature and has been able to draw a large pool of followers who are mostly youths and are quite active on the internet.

On Wednesday afternoon, the former governor of Anambra State reacted to the recent defeat of the Nigerian Falconets at the ongoing Under 20 Women World Cup in Costa Rica.

The Nigerian team were knocked out at the Quarter Final of the tournament after succumbing to two goals to nil in their crunch encounter with Netherlands on Monday morning.

Reacting to the defeat on his verified twitter page, Obi saluted the doggedness of the young ladies for putting up a decent game with the Dutch.

He wrote on twitter: “Our dear Super Falconets put up a decent game and fought gallantly at the ongoing Under 20 Women’s World Cup in Costa Rica, until they were knocked out at the Semi Finals stage, by the Netherlands. We salute the players”

Meanwhile, the Falconets were actually knocked out at the Quarter Final of the tournament and not at the semi final as Peter Obi put it.

Obi’s error was spotted by one of his followers, Olugbenga Olaleye who drew his attention to it through his comment under the post.
