A 500-level student of the University of Benin has reportedly been shot dead.
Two other students were also shot and injured in the attack which took place on Friday evening in the institution. Their condition is currently unknown
According to online reports, a fight began at Ekiadolor days ago and culminated in Friday’s shootings in the campus.
Some of the students claim it is a cult clash and the shooters are cultists.
A video shared online shows a red car with bullet holes. The body of a man was removed from the car and taken to the back of a pick-up van where he was deposited.
Horrified students clustered in different positions at the scene of incident and stared in bewilderment.
Other students who were injured during the clash have taken to X, formerly known as Twitter, to share photos of their injuries.
