If I Become A President, I Will Visit 36 Nigerian States Before I Travel Abroad- Obi Speaks On 2023
One of the leading presidential aspirants of the People’s Democratic Party, Dr. Peter Obi has dropped a major topic that may likely dominate a centre of discussion in the next few days.
The former governor of Anambra state who was a Special Guest on the Tuesday edition of Arise TV Morning Show stated during the programme that if he is elected in 2023 as Nigerian president, he would not visit any country until he tours the entire States of the federation.
Obi made the statement while responding to a question that bothers on his recent touring of all the six geopolitical regions of the country ahead of 2023.
The PDP presidential hopeful has become the first aspirant both in APC and PDP to have completed that task ahead of party Primaries slated for later this month.
Speaking on how he managed to achieve that, Obi noted that it is not a big deal to him. He said he visited all the local governments in Anambra state in the first hundred days of his tenure as governor even before he travelled outside the state.
He said it is a tradition which he adopted and will uphold the standard if he becomes the president.
The Anambra state-born politician explained that there is need to build familiarity between the government and the people. There is need to know and understand their plights. What the people majorly want that are not in the campaign promises.
He believes that once the people can trust their leaders, it makes governance easy for the government. Obi said he would rebuild that trust and confidence in the people of Nigeria.
Aside a situation where there is a serious and unavoidable international engagement, he won’t travel out of the country until he visits the entire 36 states of Nigeria if he becomes the president in 2023.
Obi stated this during the Tuesday edition of Arise TV Morning Show exclusively monitored by RovingNaija.
