The Kwara State Police Command has taken into custody a middle-aged man who operates a barbershop in Ilorin, the state capital, in connection with the demise of a young lady during a sexual encounter that occurred on Monday.
The police officially confirmed the incident on Tuesday, stating that they have started investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the lady, who is reported to have passed away after an intimate encounter with her boyfriend at a guest house in Ilorin.
The incident reportedly took place on Monday at a guest house situated in the Temidire community, Offa Garage area within the city.
An unverified report from community members, alleged that the man may have been under the influence of substances in an attempt to impress his girlfriend, which ultimately led to the tragic turn of events.
The report suggested that during their encounter, the young woman became exhausted and subsequently lost consciousness and later passed away.
The man was said to have raised the alarm when the lady became unresponsive, which attracted the attention of the guest house staff, and the lady was taken to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Following the incident, the owner of the guest house reported the matter to the Police ‘A’ Division in Ilorin, resulting in the subsequent arrest of the middle-aged man.
The Police Public Relations Officer, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, confirmed the incident and the arrest, assuring that a thorough investigation is currently underway.
“The incident is true. The state police command has arrested the man involved while full investigations have commenced to determine what exactly transpired between the man and the deceased,” Ajayi said.
