SAD! Thunderstorm Strikes Three Students To Death, Six Critically Injured 

Three students have reportedly been killed by a thunderstorm that struck on Saturday in Akwa, Anambra State.

The students were playing football in their school field when the torrential rain in Awka came with heavy thunderstorm.

Nine of them who were struck down were rushed to the hospital where three of them were declared dead by a medical doctor.

Six other students are still receiving medical attention as parents and residents trooped to the hospital to sympathize with the bereaved families.

According to an eye witness, the school coach ended a training session with them before the rain started while the nine of them continued playing football in the field.

It was not long before the thunder struck, and they were rushed to a mission hospital where six were revived.

When contacted on telephone, the Police Public Relations Officer in Anambra State, Mr Tochukwu Ikenga said he was unaware of the incident.
