Strike Suspension: Power Supply Restored In Enugu

The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company says power supply has been restored in Imo State and other areas under its franchises following the suspension of the strike by the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, and Trade Union Congress, TUC.

Emeka Ezeh, Head of Corporate Communications of EEDC, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday.

“The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company PLC (EEDC) wishes to inform her esteemed customers of the restoration of electricity supply following the suspension of the industrial action by the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC).

“As a result, all our sources of supply at the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) stations were restored yesterday night, and our outgoing feeders are now in service, except those on fault.

“In addition, supply to Egbu TCN station, which serves our customers in Imo State, was restored yesterday night,” the statement said.

The development comes barely 24 hours after the company issued a notice of loss of power supply in some of its locations.

Recall that the NLC and TUC national executive suspended its nationwide strike on Wednesday after reaching an agreement with the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

On Tuesday, NLC and TUC commenced a nationwide indefinite strike following the attack on NLC President Joe Ajaero, in Imo State.
