Rivers State: Customary Court swears in 4 Chairmen, 24 members
The President of Rivers State Customary Court of Appeal, His Lordship, Justice, IHEMNACHO WILFRED-OBUZOR has sworn-in four Chairmen and twenty-one members of Customary Courts of Rivers State Judiciary, while charging them to be mindful in order not to disappoint God and humanity in discharge of the duties.
Justice WILFRED-OBUZOR urged them not to see the work as Civil servant or political appointment but the work of a priest representing God himself as he cautions the new Chairmen and Members of Customary against being radical but should also depend on prayers to God in discharge of their responsibilities.
He further advised the newly sworn in to tie themselves with the oath office taken and must be abided by the judicial code of conduct just as he urged them to always allow customary law to privil following the peculiarities of their jurisdiction.
Justice WILFRED-OBUZOR also reminded the Customary Court Chairmen and Members that their judgment and conduct will speak for them but must be ready to make sacrifices to avoid pleasure and losing some friend as well as family relationship for the sake of efficiency in discharging their duties.
