Police Torturing My Husband To Implicate Ehie In Burning Of Assembly – Macpherson
Precious Macpherson, wife to Olumini MacPherson has alleged that police operatives of Federal Special Anti-Robbery Squad headquarters Intelligence Response Unit (IRT) abducted her husband, Olumini from Rivers and are now torturing him and two others in Abuja to implicate Edison Ehie, factional Speaker loyal to Governor Siminalayi Fubara in the October 29 burning of the State House of Assembly complex.
Mrs Macpherson told journalists that her husband was abducted on his way from a burial ceremony at Ekaeta, in Ahoada East local government area of the state on December 16, 2023.
“Initially we thought it was a kidnap case because I tried calling him for two days. His phone was ringing, and he did not pick up until his phone was switched off.
“I became worried, I travelled from Port Harcourt to Ahoada to enquire from the Police station in Ahoada, they said he had not been missing for up to 48 hours, so they could not declare him missing.
“On Monday, December 18, 2023, I was told he is in Port Harcourt in the former SARS headquarters, Rupokwu.
She added that MacPherson and two others were later transferred to Abuja by the police, where they are being detained and tortured to implicate Ehie as the mastermind of the bombing of the Rivers Assembly complex
The arrest of Olumini MacPherson is coming days after the controversial eight-point Abuja peace accord that is the subject of protests and litigations was signed.
RovingNaija News reports that Edison Ehie had raised the alarm that there have been relentless efforts to recruit people to implicate him for a crime he never committed because of his avowed principled stand to continue to support governor Fubara.
According to the wife of Olumini MacPherson, her husband and two others were arrested on their way from burial and transferred to Police Headquarters Abuja where he was detained and tortured to implicate Edison Ehie as the alleged Arsonist that bombed Rivers Assembly complex.
