Labour Party Release Timetable, Schedule For Bye- Election

The leadership of the Labour Party has released its timetable and schedule of activities ahead of the February by-elections to fill vacant seats in the state and federal legislative houses.

The Independent National Electoral Commission will also conduct reruns in 34 constituencies whose elections were nullified by the court.

The National Secretary of the Labour Party, Umar Farouk , in a statement on Thursday in Abuja, said party’s leadership had pegged fees for the nomination forms for Senate at N3.5m; House of Representatives N2m and House of Assembly N500,000.

Farouk also said the sales of the nomination forms, expression of interest and delegate forms, would commence from December 28 to January 4, 2024 while submission of completed forms would end on January 4, 2024.

“The primary elections will hold on January 7, 2024. Female aspirants and Persons Living with Disabilities are exempted from payment of fees for the Expression of Interest Forms only,”
