Photo: Nigeria’s First Female Major General Laid To Rest 

Nigeria’s first female Major-General, Aderonke Kale, has been laid to rest. 

Her son, Yemi Kale, revealed this in photos shared on his X handle.

According to funeral arrangements made available by Yemi, the internment was done on Friday at St James Anglican Church, Mobalufo, Ejirin Road, Ijebu Ode, Ogun State.

The reception took place on Saturday at the Omolayole Hall, University of Ibadan International Conference Centre. 

Kale, who died at the age of 84, was the first female officer to be promoted to the rank of Major General in the Nigerian Army and in West Africa. 

She was also the first female Commander of the Nigerian Army Medical Corps.
