Breaking: Private Jet With VIP Passengers Crash Lands In Ibadan

A private jet, with 10 persons onboard, including Very Important Personalities (VIPs) reportedly crash-landed in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital at about 11am on Friday 26th January 2024 at the Samuel ladoke Akintola Airport.

The jet with registration number, N580KR, missed the runway and ended up in the nearby bush.

Meanwhile, firefighters and rescue officials from the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) were immediately deployed to the scene.

Spokesperson to Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA) Carol Adekoujo who confirmed the incident to a vanguard correspondent via phone says “It was a private plane from Abuja. It landed safely but overshot the runway. There was no casualty,”

Meanwhile the spokesman for the Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau, Tunji Oketunmbi, said he would revert but he was yet to do so as of press time.

Recall that, in November, the Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, escaped death when a plane he was on board crash-landed at the same airport.
