Court Stops Security Agents From Arresting Ehie Edison Over Burnt Assembly Complex
A High Court sitting in Port Harcourt has granted an ex-parte motion filed by the Chief of Staff to Governor of Rivers state, Ehie Edison, against the Nigerian Police.
Ehie had approached the court to restrain the police and other security agencies from arresting, detaining, or harassing him over his alleged involvement in the explosion at the Rivers State House of Assembly.
The Presiding Judge, Justice Sika Aprioku, after granting the order, adjourned to February 6th, 2024, for a hearing of the substantive application
The Martins Amaewhule-led lawmakers had written a criminal petition against Ehie to the Rivers State Police Command over the invasion and arson attack on the chambers of the State Assembly by unknown hoodlums.
