What Super Eagles’ Coach Said After Beating S/Africa To Reach AFCON Final
Super Eagles’s Head Coach, Jose Peseiro has reacted to the victory he secured against the highly tactical and organized Bafana Bafana of South Africa at the semifinal of the ongoing African Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.
The coach heaped praises on his players, saying they deserve to be in the final.
The West Africans defeated South Africa 4-2 on penalties in a keenly contested semi-final tie at the Stade de la Paix on Wednesday night.
William Troost-Ekong gave Nigeria the lead from the spot on 63 minutes, while Teboho Mokoena equalised for Bafana Bafana on the dot of 90 minutes.
After the game, Peseiro was full of praises for his players for their impressive performance in the game.
“The players deserve to be in the finals, it’s a very good victory against a good team,” Peseiro told reporters after the game.
“I said it earlier that South Africa have the best of organization because they play together and they created more problems for us. It was very difficult to beat them,” he said after the game.”
The Super Eagles will face hosts Cote d’Ivoire in the final at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan on Sunday.
