Sesan Adelabu, a renowned business tycoon and socialite based in Ondo State has taken his own life after reportedly killing his wife.
The incident which occurred in Alagbaka GRA, Akure, the state capital has thrown residents of the community into confusion.
According to sources, trouble began when the said Mr. Adelabu caught his wife in bed with one of his security guards.
The victim reportedly macheted his wife to death and, later committed suicide by drinking sniper, an insecticide.
His wife’s lifeless body was left on their marital bed, while the socialite died inside his toilet after drinking the insecticide.
Adelabu, according to sources, has a chain of business investments, including petrol stations in Akure, the Ondo state capital.
Their corpses have been deposited at the Akure General Hospital.
When contacted, the state police spokesperson, Funmi Odunlami, confirmed the incident.
Odunlami said that the socialite murdered his wife and thereafter committed suicide by drinking sniper.
The police spokesperson added that police detectives have started their investigation into the matter.
