Edo APC: Tinubu Meets Okpebholo, Idahosa, Others at The Villa
President Bola Tinubu on Monday met with the leadership of the Edo state chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) at the State House, Abuja.
The meeting, which had the party’s candidate for the upcoming governorship election, Senator Monday Okpebholo, and his running mate, Hon Dennis Idahosa, in attendance, was aimed at ironing out some disagreements in the Party.
Although details of discussions in the meeting were still sketchy at the time of filing this report, a source at the meeting said one of the resolutions reached is the withdrawal of the protest litigation by the running mate, Idahosa, against the candidature of Okpebholo.
RovingNaija recalls that the primary election that eventually produced Okpebholo as a candidate had initially run into a controversy as Idahosa was first declared by the Governor Hope Uzodinma-led Committee.
The first round of primary was, however, declared inconclusive by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, due to a number of irregularities.
Among those at the meeting, which was held in the President’s office, were the National Chairman of the APC, Dr Abdullahi Ganduje; Senator representing Edo North Senatorial District, Adams Oshiomhole; Senator Matthew Urhoghide, former representative of Edo South in the Senate.
